EXPERIENCE

ENTDECKEN
We are a medium-sized company combining innovation and experience with our 70-year
passion for ceramics. We develop cutting-edge new solutions in the fields of technical
ceramics and porcelain. In addition we are an experienced and reliable partner for the thermal processing of all types of bulk materials and other ceramic shaped bodies (up to 1600°C).

In 1712, the Schauberger facility was founded as a paint factory.
In 1818, our current company site was converted into a porcelain and earthenware factory.
Following a series of ownership changes, world wars, and the Great Depression, the production facility was permanently shut down.
In 1948, Richard Rösler took over the dilapidated production facility and set the stage for a succesfully family history. With just two employees and no functioning electricity or water supply, he ventured into the production of bottle caps in Schauberg. He was supported by his wife, Margarete, who came from the well-known Persch and Mazel porcelain family.
In 1958, the company acquired another porcelain factory in Hausen/Lichtenfels, which, under the leadership of Roland Rösler, is now considered the global market leader in the field of sliding-shaft technology. Rösler Oberflächentechnik GmbH is managed by Roland Rösler’s son, Stephan Rösler, who holds a degree in business administration and has successfully continued the company’s expansion in recent years.
In 1967, with the introduction of the Euro bottle and the crown cap, the market for swing tops collapsed overnight. However, thanks to its technical innovation and high-quality standards, Rösler established a reputation in the brewing industry early on and was able to continue its successful core business even after 1967.
Starting with simple mugs with handles, the company built up an extensive and modern product line that offers the right porcelain for everyone. Tableware production developed into another successful core business. Yet Rösler remained true to the porcelain stopper as well. Through technical innovations such as the 3-K porcelain stopper, the company succeeded in making the porcelain bottle stopper fit for the future.
The company is led by Guido and Marietta Rösler.
Construction of the spray tower with its own feed preparation system
The new-generation clip-on closure was developed by Rösler.
The cream-colored line was designed by Guido Rösler and is the company’s first angular porcelain series.
Katharina and Johannes Rösler make up the new management team.
In 2017, Katharina Rösler sadly passed away far too early at the age of 38. Since then, Johannes Rösler has continued to run the company, especially in honor of his sister.

In the manufacture of our products, we use recycled ceramic raw materials and ground porcelain shards whenever possible. In general, ceramic products are sustainable due to their durability.
For example, you can use the porcelain bottle caps to pop the cork up to 50 times, because they can be washed over and over again and left on the bottles.
“EcoVadis provides comprehensive ratings for companies worldwide. The evaluation is presented in a scorecard with point scores and medals.
